Your Top Questions About Men’s Sexual Health Answered

Welcome back to another exciting episode of the Balls Deep Podcast! This time around we decided to shake things up a little bit by hosting an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session featuring Dr. Joe Pazona who answered some very interesting, and sometimes hilarious, questions about urology and men’s health. We’re sharing some of the top questions from the podcast that address orgasm problems, erections, and more.

Why Can’t I Orgasm?

One listener had a question that could not be more aptly put – why can’t I cum? It is sad that there is not enough attention given to such an issue as a delayed or absent orgasm. Although premature ejaculation tends to receive all the media attention at times, it can be just as distressing to be unable to orgasm.
Orgasms are complex phenomena with significant inputs from our brains. So if guys have trouble having one, it isn’t always about attraction or ability. While much remains unknown, drugs like antidepressants, hormone imbalances, and even psychological issues are known contributors. There’s no magic cure for it, but seeing it holistically may work wonders; looking into mental health and physical fitness might be worth trying.

Should You Let Your Vet Test Your Semen After a Vasectomy?

Another topic that had us in stitches (and worried) was when someone wanted to get his post-vasectomy sperm test done by a local vet so as not to spend too much money on it. It might seem thrifty, but certainly, it's not advisable.

Human semen analysis should only be done by an expert laboratory specializing in this field. These tests must be accurate, especially if you need their results for making life-changing decisions such as confirming whether your vasectomy worked out well or not. Go for a reliable service like Fellow, which does semen analysis alone.

When Do Erections Stop?

We also discussed age-related erectile issues. Contrary to what many hope (or fear), erections don’t have an expiration date. Nonetheless, erectile dysfunction is a more common condition among elderly men characterized by at least 50% of men aged 50 and even up to 70% of those who are on the cusp of their 70s. This has often been associated with old-age ailments like high blood pressure, diabetes, and risky lifestyles.

Have faith though! By maintaining a healthy lifestyle – including eating habits, intense physical exercises, and balancing hormonal levels – any man can retain his ability to get hard right into his later years. So when you start worrying about your sexual health as you become older, begin taking care of your body now.

My Semen Looks Different – Should I Be Worried?

Finally, one difficult question was addressed: Why does my semen change in color and density? Though it may be unnerving, variations in sperm are usually benign due to factors such as water intake, dieting approach, or frequency of ejaculation.

Sometimes semen can look a bit yellowish or have a little blood in it. Even though this sounds scary, hematospermia or blood in semen is not usually associated with anything serious. However if there are other symptoms like pain or seeing blood in your pee, then see a doctor immediately, otherwise just let it happen; this is how your body works.

Final Thoughts

It is obvious from these questions that many people have urgent queries about their sexual health that they are too shy to ask. However, it should be realized that these questions are more common than one may think of, and responding to them can bring a calm mind.
