The BioTE® hormone pellet insertion process for women is usually easy. First, you are brought into the exam room and asked to lay on your side on an exam table. The insertion site, usually somewhere around the upper buttocks, is numbed and cleaned. A small incision is made, and the hormone pellets are inserted with a small trocar.
Afterward, the insertion site is covered with a small bandage. The pellets dissolve over time, and the body absorbs the contents, leaving nothing behind. We will have you go to the lab for another blood draw 5-6 weeks following your first pellet insertion to measure your hormone levels again. We will then have a follow-up appointment to assess how you are feeling 6 weeks following pellet insertion.
